Hello, gorgeous! Since we've been talking about ethical fashion for the last few weeks, I want to share a sweatshop-free summer look with you.
I went on a date with my husband last night to a European-style farmers market. All of the items I pulled together for this easy, floral outfit were made in USA.
I wanted to wear something that was feminine yet casual. This fun, flowly skirt by Peaches love Cream was a no-brainer. I'm pretty obsessed with the skort situation and the way this maxi moves when I walk!
My plunging halter was made in the USA by Haute Hippie. It's such an easy staple piece that I wear all the time. The vintage bag was my grandma's, the namesake of my jewelry line. I believe it's from the 1960's, before the era of fast fashion.
I was super excited to accessorize my ethical date night look with new moonstone jewels from the Electro collection. I can't get enough of the new additions! They have a timeless, retro-modern vibe that I think pairs perfectly with summer prints.
I wore the Moonstone Neckwire because it's boldly feminine. I always get tons of compliments when I wear this piece! It's also super lightweight and easy-to-wear.
To finish off the look, I threw on the Moonstone Handpiece and the Fancy Moonstone Ring made from recycled 14k gold.
As you may already know, I handcraft all Annachich Jewelry in California. I am conscious of the environment in my sourcing and use local vendors whenever possible. All Annachich fine jewelry is crafted from recycled 14k gold and ethically mined stones.
I loved listening to live music as we strolled along the luxury store-lined street, shopping for organic produce. Savory smells from street carts and food trucks filled the air as the sun set between the buildings.
Knowing there was no pain of suffering caused by my wardrobe choices deepened the joy of my husband's company. It made it all the more fun to twirl around in a flowing skirt under canopies of trees strung with cafe lights.
It's so satisfying to be conscious of the human and environmental impact of the clothing and accessories I choose to purchase. It's important to me that I know where my goods came from. It's important that the skilled workers are treated fairly while creating the wardrobe items I love.
I hope this fun date night look serves as proof that it's possible to be ethical and well-styled. You don't need to shop from companies that use sweatshops to be on trend.
